Getting started with DocuTract
What DocuTract does, the three ways to get a template, and how a document goes from scans to a finished .docx or PDF in four steps.
What DocuTract does
DocuTract turns document busywork into a single action. You give it a .docx template once, then for each new deal you upload the scans it needs: a passport, an extract, an invoice. DocuTract reads the text, fills in the right names, dates and amounts, and gives you a finished document as .docx and PDF.
Every value keeps a note of where it came from: the document and the page it was read on. So when somebody asks "where did this number come from?", there is always an answer.

Three ways to get a template
A template is your document with the changing parts marked as fields, plus a list of the scans that fill those fields. You can get one in three ways:
- Start from a blank with
{{fields}}. Write{{tenant_full_name}}or{{contract_date}}in Word wherever the text changes, upload the file and tell DocuTract where each field comes from. See Create a template from a blank. - Start from a finished document. Upload a contract you have already signed, with real names in it. The AI suggests which values change from deal to deal and turns them into fields; you decide which suggestions to keep. See Create a template from a finished document.
- Take a ready template from the library. Common forms such as employment orders, acts of works, invoices and leases are already prepared. See Ready-made templates.
Filling a document in four steps
Once a template exists, every document follows the same path:
- Choose a template. On the Templates page press Fill on the one you need.
- Upload the scans. Each required document has its own slot. PNG, JPG and PDF are accepted, and a document can have several pages.
- Check the data. DocuTract shows what it recognised, with a confidence colour for each value so you know where to look first. Correct anything that is wrong, then press Save and continue.
- Download. The finished document is ready in seconds: Download .docx or Download PDF.
